Let’s be honest. Geeks today are cool. Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Hermoine Granger, Steve Urkel. Where would the world be without these geniuses? Computers, the internet, Facebook, video games, smart phones, Laura Winslow, all gone. Without them, I’d most likely be typing this up on my new fangled type writer listening to the AM radio. But alas, I am not.
Thanks to these guys our generation grew up on all this cool stuff. In fact, I’ll bet my liver it was some super plan hatched in a top secret underground Jolt chugging think tank.
Why? Because, thanks to them, we’ve all been indoctrinated into their geekiness, whether we wanted to or not. Don’t have a facebook? Don’t have a smart phone? Don’t know how to use a computer or surf the internet? It’s not looking good for you my friend.
Hell, they’ve even managed to make Justin Timberlake a full fledged geek.
I’d say that’s pretty impressive…
So, what’s a pseudo geek to do when we find ourselves walking that tightrope between cool and corny? When we’re having serious thoughts about ditching that date so we can hop on to our favorite MMORPG, or when seeing that latest SCI FI movie means that we’re in debt to our other half eternally? Well, if that is you, I hope you find this blog useful. I plan on covering everything from dating, to movies, to how to get away with playing that MMORPG without it sucking you fully into geekdom. In the meantime, leave your comments, suggestions, or hell, send me your articles.
